Machines are at the heart of nearly every engineering project. In this series, younger students will learn the major types, how they work and how to build and utilize a variety of simple machines each week, including pulleys, levers, wheels and axles, inclined planes, screws and wedges, all to understand concepts of mechanical advantage, friction, conservation of energy and more!

Students are presented with a mission over this 8-week session to engineer a combination of solutions - with emphasis on trial and error, they must design, build, test and transport a raw egg from one, elevated point to another, over an opening and through obstacles, using machines they build (ramps, levers, pulleys, bridges, vehicles) and being as creative as they can be.
