This class is a great way to learn the basics of programming in a computer language that many students hold as their first official programming language. This class is meant to cover programming fundamentals using the Java programming language. Java is a programming language actually used by companies such as Google, Uber, Pinterest, Netflix, and more around the world. Discussion and questions are widely encouraged.
This class will use a web-based coding platform for learning Python called Repl.it. This means no downloads or installations will be required besides the class video streaming platform to view our virtual class..
Some topics covered include: Learning how a computer “thinks” and waits for our commands, How to think like a programmer?, Basic programming concepts such as: -Computer language grammar (Syntax), What are errors/bugs?, Print statements, Variables, Conditional statements and Control Structures.
